Milk Hearts

I was playing on Pinterest the other day when I discovered some adorable milk heart ice cubes that Victoria made and posted about on her blog.

These were right up my alley...not a huge time commitment... and... I actually had all of the items needed to make them! Milk, red food coloring, and a silicon heart mold.  (No, I'm not Martha, I simply have the heart mold because the girls found it at the dollar store in Target a few weeks ago and I let them buy it. No idea what we were going to use it for... other than plain ice cubes... but for a dollar I made the girls crazy happy. Wait until they see what mommy has up her sleeve now!)

I made our hearts on Monday afternoon and let them freeze overnight. The next morning... milk for breakfast with a little "I love you" slipped in! The girls were wild about them...and the hearts slowly turned the milk pink as they melted.

I highly recommend you try them!

Valentine's Milk Hearts

1 C Milk
10 - 20 drops red food coloring (less for pink hearts)
1 Heart shaped mold

Stir milk and food coloring together.
Poor into mold.
Freeze overnight.
Serve in cold milk.
Feel the love...

Tips for Added Fun:

You can use chocolate milk for the cubes and serve with a cold glass of milk and hot chocolate chip cookies on the side.

Also, check your local doughnut store...you never know what goodies you will find waiting for you there!

Enjoying the journey,

Shannon
