Last Minute Valentine Box

Did you just get the memo that your peanut needs a receptacle for Valentine delivery?

Are you horrified at the idea of sending said peanut in with a plastic grocery sack (even if you are just getting the memo)?

Is your inner Martha scrambling for a fabulous (yet expedient) idea?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions.... read on. If you do not have any hesitation about sending in the plastic grocery bag... WOW. I cannot relate and sometimes wish I lived in such a calm, happy place. :-)

We started this project thinking we would find a sacrificial shoebox and some pretty scrapbook paper to cover it with. Imagine my surprise when said shoebox (from Target shoes purchased for a Dorothy costume) arrived at the kitchen table.

Do you see it?

AND

Cha-Ching!

Ladies, hand that child some glitter glue and tell her to stay within the lines.

Not all glitter glue is created equal. I have large tubes of glitter glue that I was thrilled to acquire for free! Let us just say that you get what you pay for. The glitter is coarse and therefore gets clogged in the tip. More often then not you do not have warning before the lids blows off the top sending globs of glittery goodness with it. The glitter glue used in this project was an impulse buy at Michael's. It was crazy expensive and I highly recommend taking a coupon with you or prepare to have your dinner in the doghouse. That said, it has been A-MAZING for several projects and has yet to clog. The color selection is wonderful, the glitter fine and sparkly.

'Nuf said.

Sweet girl added scrap paper ends and frame for her name (which we replaced with "Love Bug" for the purposes of public display). I then cut the slot for her Valentines and Voila!!!
